What size walk-in cooler do I need for my restaurant?
For most small to mid-size restaurants (under 80 seats), an 8 ft × 8 ft cooler is a solid starting point — roughly 55 sq ft of usable floor space. Higher-volume kitchens typically need 10 ft or 12 ft boxes. We're happy to help you calculate the right size based on your menu and delivery schedule.
Do I need a floor panel for a walk-in freezer?
For freezers, an insulated floor panel is strongly recommended. It prevents condensation, protects your concrete slab, and significantly improves energy efficiency. Coolers can often be installed without a floor panel if the existing floor is level and sealed.
Can I install the cold room myself?
Panel assembly is straightforward — two people can complete a standard room in a few hours using the cam-lock connectors. The refrigeration hookup (electrical and refrigerant lines) should be done by a licensed technician.
What panel thickness do I need?
3" panels work for cooler applications in moderate climates. 4" is the standard recommendation for most coolers. 5" is required for freezer applications (−4°F to −8°F) and hot ambient environments above 86°F.
What refrigeration unit do I need for an 8 ft cooler?
An 8 ft × 8 ft cooler typically requires a ¾ HP to 1 HP condensing unit. The exact unit depends on ambient temperature, door frequency, and product load. We recommend the right unit when you request a quote.
What is the lead time and how is delivery handled?
Standard-size rooms ship in 5–10 business days. Custom configurations take 3–4 weeks. All rooms ship via freight truck, flat-packed on pallets. Liftgate service is available — indicate when quoting if you don't have a loading dock.
What warranty do the panels and doors carry?
All panels and doors carry a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Refrigeration units purchased with a room are covered for 1 year. Our support team is available Mon–Fri to help with any issues.
